Hello, wonderful activist conservative ladies. This is a note to bring up an issue that you may already be well aware of, but if not, it needs our full attention. As you know, Murtha (Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional district) died recently. There will be a special election to fill that seat, probably to be held on May 18th.
Bill Russell is a very fine conservative candidate for that seat. Russell campaigned in 2008 for the Murtha seat, and although he lost in that election, he did much better than expected, especially as it is a blue area. That was Russell’s first national political effort, and so he has some campaign experience under his belt now. He has a stellar military background, and has been being supported by the political groups who are supporting the election of conservative veterans.
As an aside, he has always been very clear about the national threat of our fiscal excesses. With Russell, I very much doubt that we would have the experience we have just had in which we successfully voted in a Republican and the new legislator then immediately sided with the spendthrifts and voted for another huge slush fund. Ruseell is a genuine conservative.
So, this is a note to encourage us all to check Russell out, and if you think it worthwhile, start supporting him with everything we can. Another early pick-up for conservatives would just be tooooo delicious!
My warmest thanks to all you wonderful co-conservatives! Cheers, Laura Gutman
