About the Book:

It’s a rough, tough world for middle schoolers today. Not long ago, some of these kids believed in Santa Claus. Now, barely on the cusp of adolescence, they are thrust into an adult world, stripped bare of many of the parental protections afforded previous generations. For some, the loss of innocence has been profound.

Yet the choices a child makes during middle school are pivotal, affecting the whole of life. And parents have enormous power to guide and protect their children in a culture that long ago forgot that fences and guardrails make childhood possible.

Please join Brenda Hunter, PhD and Kristen Blair, authors of From Santa to Sexting: Helping Your Child Safely Navigate Middle School and Shape the Choices that Last a Lifetime, as they discuss the myriad pressures middle schoolers face today, along with ways to keep kids safe and strong during these important years. Dr. Hunter and Ms. Blair will address topics, such as: friendships and fitting in; technology and media; bullying and cyberbullying; parental attachment and empathy; growing up at warp speed (sex, drugs and alcohol); and rebuilding family walls.
