The ICON Lecture Series presented Bill Adair, creator of Politifact.com, as its guest speaker on September 30, 2014 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  Mr. Adair is a Duke Knight Professor for the Practice of Journalism and Public Policy.  He received the Everett Dirksen Award for Distinguished Coverage of Congress and won a Pulitzer Prize in 2009 for fact-checking the presidential election.  
PolitiFact.com is an independent fact-checking journalism website aimed at bringing the truth to politics.  Reporters and editors fact-check statements from the White House, Congress, candidates, advocacy groups and more, rating claims for accuracy, including links and references to sources.  
The next ICON lecture will be presented on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 7 p.m. with Roy Beck,  visionary Founder and President of Numbers USA  who will be the guest speaker.  The topic of the lecture will be Immigration:  Moral and Environmental Implications of Current U.S. Policies .   For tickets and additional information, please go to www.iconlectureseries.com
